What's Up With the Allmade Shirt Supply?

To Our Allmade Community,

The #1 question we’ve been getting lately is “When are you expecting more {insert your favorite Allmade color} back in stock?” We hear you, and we know it can be frustrating when what you’re looking for isn’t available. With that in mind, we hope this letter sheds some light on your questions and helps you understand some of the contributing factors. Please take a minute to read about how the organic cotton shortage has affected Allmade inventory, what we’re doing to fix it and what you can expect in the months to come.

What happened? Having a sustainable brand might sound easier than it actually is. Since less than 1% of the world’s cotton crop is organic, we have a limited supply for our fabric. To make matters even more challenging, until recently we’ve only used Texas-grown organic cotton in our tri-blend fabric. Due to the increased demand and shortages of US-grown cotton, it has led us to explore other global sources for organic cotton.

What we’ve done. Our dedicated team members have been working closely with vendors and yarn suppliers to secure new, globally sourced, organic cotton and our makers have been working hard to cut and sew over 1,000,000 units. These efforts will get our tri-blend tees back in stock by the end of summer, hopefully sooner.

What’s coming next? Over the next couple of months, we’ll be rolling out new colors, new organic fabrics, and…drumroll please…NEW STYLES! Yes, you read that correctly. New styles! Up until now we’ve only made t-shirts, so this is pretty exciting news! Our team has been thinking outside the box and working behind the scenes on new and innovative sustainable products. We wish we could say more… sit tight and we guarantee a big unveiling!

We can’t thank you enough for all your love, patience and support during this last year. We’d also like to give a big shout-out to our makers, as Allmade wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them. So from all of us at Allmade, thank you for sticking with us as we try to make our planet a little more sustainably happy!

Your friends,

The Allmade Team

P.S. Keep an eye out for next week’s “Organic Cotton: 101” blog where we break down the differences between organic cotton, conventional cotton and transitional cotton.
