In the spirit of Valentines Day, we would like to show a little love to the Global Orphan Project. We are so grateful to be able to partner with them in the production of Allmade Apparel. This group is helping change the lives of many people across the world.
What is the Global Orphan Project
The Global Orphan Project, also known as the GO Project, is a non-profit whose mission is to help children and families in crisis. They serve communities from Kansas City all the way to Kampala, Uganda. The Global Orphan Project provides sustainable care to those who are most at risk. They provide orphan care both stateside and internationally. The GO Project also helps with orphan prevention. They do this by helping give families a leg up through education, economic development, vocational training, and agricultural development. These integral parts of the project help decrease the poverty problem across the world and help keep families together.
Allmade and the Global Orphan Project
In Haiti, an average worker earns a mere $3 a day to support a family of eight. This leaves many families in the position of not being able to care for their children, and thus leaving the children as economic orphans. This is where Allmade Apparel and the Global Orphan Project come in.
Allmade Apparel and the Global Orphan Project have partnered together to produce quality shirts, while fighting generational poverty in Haiti. Allmade is cut and sewn at the LIFE Facility in Haiti, just one of the places where the Global Orphan Project has created dignified work for those who are struggling. The Allmade team at LIFE is paid a living wage, which is up to 3-4x the going rate for similar jobs. 100% of the proceeds from LIFE are donated to the Global Orphan Project and help with both orphan care and prevention.
